Electro-pop group The Eiffels have honed a consistent, dance rock sound for years now, and now, fresh from last year’s Vans Warped Tour, they’ve released a brand new single “Spin Around.” Though they’ve been active since 2015, the Eiffels have yet still to release a full LP, creating a somewhat rare chronology of the evolution of their sound.
The Eiffels have found a happy medium in between a retro and modern sound. Their music harkens back to 80s synth pop, but retains a modern twist and upbeat rock sound in the vein of indie-pop bands Bleachers and Walk the Moon. This fusion of rock and pop, old and new is effortless in “Spin Around,” which is as tight and danceable a single as they’ve ever produced.
This settling at a sweet spot between rock and pop, as well as contemporary and retro sound, might be the reason the band has enjoyed such widespread success over that past few years. Their music has been featured on MTV’s “Are You The One” and “The Only Way is Essex,” they’ve toured with the Plain White T’s and have even nabbed a top 10 spot on iTunes Belgium with their previous single “Heartbeat.”
Their enviable range and sweeping appeal has put them in an excellent position to generate a lot of buzz when they do release a studio album. For now, you can catch them performing at venues in their hometown of Los Angeles.
