“WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH MANY MORE LABELS, ARTISTS AND MANAGERS WHO WANT TO UNDERSTAND THEIR PLAYLISTING LANDSCAPE.”

A new app promises to help independent labels and managers easily track their performance on streaming playlists – and work out where best to invest their marketing money.
Entertainment Intelligence (Ei), the UK-based music industry data and analytics company, says its app will provide rightsholders with a clear picture of the performance of their tracks, broken down by vendor (such as Spotify and Apple Music), curator, followers, territory, device and listener demographics.
The app is currently being beta tested by the likes of Secretly Group, home to labels such as Secretly Canadian and Jagjaguwar, and artists such as Bon Iver, Phosphorescent, Sharon Van Etten (pictured), Damien Jurado and Bill Fay.
Ei boasting that the playlist tracking elements of the app offer an “unprecedented insight into consumer behaviour, and the impact of playlist inclusion, with a significant level of granular data”, and that the results will “empower clients to modify their playlist strategy to optimise marketing spend”.
Sammy Andrews, director of Entertainment Intelligence, said: “I am very proud of what Ei is taking to market. We look forward to working with many more labels, artists and managers who want to understand their playlisting landscape, as well as working with the rest of the industry on some amazing tools we have in development.
“There are some very exciting things in the pipeline here at Ei and we look forward to sharing those in more detail soon.”
The playlist app is available to rightsholders as a stand-alone service, or as part of a suite of tools from Ei that can be integrated within existing systems.
Other B2B music and entertainment applications in the works from Ei include those covering catalogue and campaign management, plus social and sales reporting and analytics.
“In a crowded field, Entertainment Intelligence threads the difficult needle of convenience and flexibility without compromising their robust analytics,” said Ben Swanson, Co-Founder of Secretly Group.
“We’re excited to be working with the team at Ei as they develop their app.”
Added Sammy Andrews: “We’re building tools that will take your data, clean it and present it in a way that allows all stakeholders in the artist ecosystem to make informed decisions.
“At Ei we understand the actionable insights people need.”
Entertainment Intelligence’s board of directors includes Greg Delaney, Erik Gilbert and Sammy Andrews.
