Cindy Davis – Cover Feature Interview

  1. How has your faith shaped your journey as a musician and broadcaster?

Faith has been the cornerstone of my journey. One powerful example is when God directed me to apply for a job at McDonald’s, despite being on the verge of launching my broadcasting career. I was approaching 30, had a family, and had just moved into an exclusive neighborhood. Yet, during my three months there, I met a young African man who had just moved to America and was seeking spiritual answers. I realized that this unexpected step was part of my purpose. This experience, like many others, reaffirmed that my journey is deeply rooted in faith and grace, guiding every step as both a broadcaster and an artist.

  1. What role does music play in empowering women and sharing the Word of God?

Music is a powerful tool. Its lyrics convey the message the artist seeks to share—whether it is to empower, inspire, or uplift. Through music, I hope to encourage women and spread the Word of God, offering messages of hope and resilience.

  1. Can you share how your new single “Wait On You” reflects your mission to uplift others, especially women?

My new single, Wait On You, is inspired by themes of patience, resilience, and trusting God’s timing. It’s meant to be a source of encouragement for listeners, especially women, reminding them that even in tough times, waiting on God is always worth it. The track blends the warmth of gospel with classic Motown soul, symbolizing both my personal faith journey and my mission to uplift others through music.

  1. What inspired you to start sharing uplifting messages and biblical solutions on social media?

The message of hope starts within and naturally overflows to others. In these chaotic times, hope is needed more than ever. While there seems to be turmoil everywhere, the Word of God offers hope. My aim is to inspire others to realize that hope remains, even in the midst of challenges.

  1. How do you believe music can serve as a tool for healing and encouragement for women facing struggles?

Music allows for the expression of complex emotions that might be difficult to articulate otherwise. Women can relate to lyrics that reflect their experiences, helping them feel understood and less isolated. Music has the power to heal, uplift, and inspire.

  1. What specific challenges do you aim to address through your music and messages?

I want my music to speak from the heart, resonating with listeners in ways that are meaningful and uplifting. I hope that the messages in the lyrics offer encouragement and hope to those who need it most.

  1. How can women find strength and empowerment through their faith in difficult times?

True strength comes from having faith in God, not just faith in faith itself. Human strength is limited and can fail, but faith in God offers a strength that carries you through. It is essential to pray, wait on God, and trust that brighter days are ahead.

  1. Can you share a personal story of how music or your faith has helped you overcome challenges in your life?

Years ago, I faced a very dark time that left me feeling hopeless. It was a song by Ty Tribbett that reminded me of the victory I have through God, sparking hope for a brighter future.

  1. What advice do you have for women seeking to strengthen their faith while pursuing their dreams, especially later in life?

Strengthening faith while pursuing dreams later in life involves self-discovery, prayer, and family support. It is never too late to pursue your goals if it aligns with God’s plan. Keep praying, keep going, and trust the process.

  1. How do you hope to impact the lives of women through your music?

I hope to impact not only women but anyone who can glean inspiration from my music’s messages. Whether it’s about love, hope, or resilience, I want my songs to leave a lasting positive impact.

  1. What messages from the Bible resonate most with you, and how do you incorporate them into your music?

The messages of love and forgiveness resonate with me the most. When summed up, the Bible is all about love. I also incorporate themes of wisdom and living a fulfilling life according to God’s principles into my music.

  1. As a praise and worship leader, how has your experience shaped the way you connect with your audience through music?

As a praise and worship leader, my goal has always been to usher people into God’s presence. This intimate exchange of faith and music carries over into my work as an artist. My songs are meant to bring glory to God and offer hope to listeners.

  1. Can you discuss any feedback or stories from women who have been inspired by your work and messages?

Before my broadcasting and music career, I led women’s ministry and home Bible studies. I’ve witnessed many women find freedom and inspiration through the Word of God, and these stories continue to inspire my work.

  1. What role do you see social media playing in the future of music and connecting with audiences?

Social media allows musicians to share their work instantly, engage with fans in real-time, and build a community. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube offer unique opportunities for independent artists to connect with global audiences and share messages of faith.

  1. How do you balance your roles as a producer, host, and musician while staying true to your mission?

I pace myself and ensure that I do not take on too much at once. The mission is firmly planted in my heart, and I always try to stay true to it, regardless of the different roles I take on.

  1. What are some of the most significant lessons you’ve learned through your journey in media and music?

As an independent artist, I’ve learned not to take on more than I can handle. It’s important to prioritize and stay focused on what truly matters.

  1. How does your production company, CinDav Productions, align with your goal of empowering women?

CinDav Productions aims to share stories of how women have overcome adversity. For example, my interview with Denise Matthews, formerly known as Vanity, revealed her transformation from fame to faith. Her story, like many others we feature, aims to inspire and empower.

  1. In what ways do you hope your story and music will inspire the next generation of female artists and leaders?

I hope to inspire them to realize that it’s never too late to pursue their dreams. If God has it in His plan for you to achieve a certain goal, just keep getting up and moving forward.

  1. What is your vision for the future of your music career and how it ties into your faith?

My vision is to reach as many people as possible with messages of love, hope, and wisdom. My music is an extension of who I am as a believer, and I hope it inspires others in their own journeys.

  1. You’ve interviewed many notable guests, including The Jacksons, Freda Payne, and Denise Matthews. What have been some of the most impactful lessons or stories you’ve learned from them?

I’ve learned from the humility of my guests. For example, I was deeply moved by Freda Payne’s definition of a legend: “If you’ve been doing something well for more than 30 years, you are a legend.”
