Sisterhood in Action: Anissa Sutton and Edie Hand Empowering Women Together

"Together, we'll pump your path to success."

Hello Wonderful Readers,

I hope this message finds you all in great spirits! I wanted to take a moment to share some exciting news and personal insights with you. As many of you know, I’m Anissa Sutton, the driving force behind Pump It Up Magazine and co-founder of The Sound of LA. Today, I want to introduce you to a remarkable woman and dear friend, Edie Hand, and our shared passion for empowering women through our work.

Through Pump It Up Magazine, I have dedicated my career to uplifting independent artists and entrepreneurs, helping them reach new heights. My husband, Michael B. Sutton, a Motown veteran, and I combine our love for music and business acumen to create a platform that supports and celebrates creativity.

Edie Hand, a celebrated author and media personality, has spent her life championing the strength and perseverance of women. Her incredible book, “Women of True Grit,” highlights the stories of women who have overcome adversity and emerged stronger. Edie’s work is a testament to the resilience and courage that lies within all of us.

I had the wonderful chance of meeting Edie when she came to Los Angeles. We had an amazing time together—I even cooked dinner, which she thoroughly enjoyed! We also did an interview and photo session, sharing a few stories with my husband, Michael, who knows Edie from their days working at Pat Boone’s label. Her daughter-in-law, who was on the cover of our March edition, was there too. It felt like being with family, and I absolutely loved the sisterhood. Edie has this incredible way of making you feel at home, and I hope I do too.

Together, Edie and I form a powerful partnership committed to fostering a community where women’s voices are heard, their stories are celebrated, and their potential is unleashed. Through our combined efforts, we continue to inspire, uplift, and empower women to embrace their inner strength and achieve greatness.

“Together, we’ll pump your path to success.”
