“I was already a huge fan of the Brothers Johnson – Louis & George, “Thunder Thumbs and Lightning Licks”. Loved “Get the Funk out my Face” and their iconic Quincy Jones collaboration on Shuggie Otis’ “Strawberry Letter 23”. When “Stomp” hit the LA airwaves on KJLH & KACE, I was working with singer Josie James from the George Duke Band and when she told us about her vocal session on “Stomp” I was thrilled! Decades later I am blessed and honored to play on Mitchell Coleman’s fresh take, with Michael Sutton’s sweet production, paying loving tribute to Quincy Jones’ masterpiece with the Brothers Johnson.”.Josh Sklair
