4. Keynotes with The Black Madonna, Resident Advisor, New Order, Jesse Rose, Dixon & more – Everyday
Each year IMS Ibiza’s Keynote Address are some of the most watched and talked about parts of the conference. Welcoming some of the biggest, newest or established artist, industry heads & influencers within Dance Music, this year is no different, our picks included Marea Stamper aka The Black Madonna who has experienced a spectacular rise from selling rave mix tapes to being Mixmag’s DJ of the Year in 2016.
Nick Sabine & Paul Clement have built one of the most influential editorial platform in Resident Advisor for electronic music. Still fully independent, this is one of electronic music’s great success stories. As digital diversity disperses the power of ‘one voice’ across media platforms, RA still has the power and for that we all at Data Transmission tip our hats regularly to them, they outstanding content makes them the leaders of the field. Bernard Sumner is the founding member of the iconic 80’s English band speaks on his multi-decade career and his memories from recording one of the finest albums of 1989, Technique, on the island of Ibiza during a time when dance music was taking Balearic beat to a whole new dimension.
Finally, our good friend Jesse Rose, last November shocked the industry by announcing his retirement after a career spanning nearly 20 years that earned him top respect as a house music master. He’s going the best way possible by embarking on a final tour and releasing an album titled ‘Alright Mate’. Outspoken Jesse Rose will share his journey and why he is turning in his decks for a new life path to inspire the next generation.=

Friday 26th – 1:20pm – 1:25pm
On the 14th January our dear friend Mo Chaudry has passed away.
Mo was a true gentleman. A calm, gentle soul and remarkable father, who was always a delight to be around. From the out pour of love, respect and sadness on facebook in the last hour, it seem Mo died whilst away from his beloved Ibiza on holiday in Sri Lanka. On Friday Presented by the IMS Partners, Mo is remembered and honoured for his life’s work and the joyful character he was. He was pivotal in building Cream in Ibiza and worked at nearly every major club venue on the island as well as cultivating his private ventures. He is deeply missed by every DJ, promoter and worker on Ibiza.
1. Leading the way with Gender Diversity
Thursday 25th – 4:00pm – 5:00pm
One of the major problems that most conferences have been pushing to tackle and rightly so is the Diversity between both genders within the industry from the DJs, to PRs to promoters – whether it is pay structure, holiday, maternity or the general derision of the women within the industry. IMS has been leading the way with not only highlighting the problem but actually making waves in fixing it.
They announced their most diverse range of contributors including in one of the early stages revealing 10 Women and 10 Men, including Andreea Magdalina founder of She Said So, Sulinna Ong, VP Artist Marketing at Deezer UK, DJ Miss Kittin, BBC Radio 1’s B.Traits and Alice Favre, of LWE. 10 leading male voices will add their viewpoints, including Eelko Van Kooten Founder & Owner, of Spinnin’ Records, Jason Ellis, Artist and Relations Director at Positiva / Virgin Records, Wade Cawood from Pulse Global, Johnny White aka Art Department & Andreas Allen Head of Artist Relations for Native Instruments.
